Hi Everyone,

I think we need to spice up this thread a little. I am definitely going to Einstein next year, and wouldn't mind learning something about the people I'm going to spend the next four years with. SO who wants to start.

u could be the first. :D

well, i just sent in my housing deposit so i'm pretty much set on einstein. who else is coming? show this thread some love!

does anyone know the closest bank to the einstein campus that preferrable has free checking for students and resonable atm fees w/o a minimum balance? the wells fargo in cali friggin charges like $2 for non-bank atm plus another $1-2 from the other bank makinga withdrwal like $3-4...

I'm from the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx (which is about a mile or two from Einstein). So, I'll give you my two cents...

I'm familiar with the banks by my house, but not near Einstein. I have a checking account specifically for my loan money at Roslyn Bank on East Tremont avenue which is in Throggs Neck. You only have to maintain a $500 balance and you get interest on your checking account money. I think Roslyn is pretty sweet compared to banks like Chase, HSBC, and Citibank. The aforementioned banks required large monthly averages (a lot more than $500) in order to avoid monthly fees and in order to receive interest on your checking acct. money.

Good luck finding a bank and at Einstein! Welcome to my neighborhood! :D

Thanks for the information! I hadn't even thought about where to put my money.

So is everyone coming to orientation? I just sent my housing deposit and things are starting to settle in that I have to leave my friends, family etc. in california. I'm excited but scared too. Anybody decide to take the biochem course?

that's what i get for taking the minimum amount of science courses possible in undergrad. i know i'm in for a rude awakening...

does einstein have dining halls? i'm too lazy to cook. :D my specialties are: 1) stir fried everything 2) steamed everything 3) rice w/ automatic rice cooker 4) betty crocker brownie mix

Hey Yogi,

Yes, I recall they had a dining hall with pretty darn tasty food. Not sure if they have kosher stir-fry though :).
