**Official PASS 2024 Endodontic Residency Interviews/Information

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Any examples of what questions WE should ask the program
The most important thing don't ask questions about something mentioned already on their page, so make sure your read everything on the website before you decide to ask. Try to find a question from what isn't there on their page.

I am so heartbroken at this whole process is. I've been out of 6 years and my grade is P/F, apply to A LOT of school and has not receive a single interview. I went to AAE this year and lots of education CE related.
How do I increase in chance next year?
Try to publish something, participate in research, volunteering, experience/practice.
It's not easy and very competitive.

I am in the state that does not have dental school. So do I have to move to where the dental school is to participate in research?
I had a classmate that presented a review study at AAE without any dental school associated. She graduated last year.

I canceled a few interviews this week because I accepted a position. Hopefully this will help some of you out. the best advice is to just be yourself on the interviews. If you got an interview then your qualified and they just want to see your personality. As hard as it is try to minimize stress and reading this forum lol. that will just lead to more stress.
If they see that you are a fun person to be around then you will get an offer from a school, its really more simple than you think. try not to overthink it and relax.

Feel like even that is long shot. Done all of that as well and in same boat. Staying optimistic though

Congrats! Which schools did you cancel if you don't mind me asking?

"The prior email erroneously indicated that the interview would be held on Friday, July 14th, 2023. We apologize for this error; The updated interview date will be Friday, July 21st, 2023."
Did everyone who originally got a july 14th date get this email?

Just got an email confirming that the interview for UCLA is still tomorrow and a zoom link will be sent back department chair. No info about time though

Not directly but i asked if we would know by thursday and he said yes, at the latest by thursday. So i would assume he would have said smthg if the date had been moved.

Congrats! Unfortunately, it really doesn't help anyone cos most schools won't invite anyone to fill that vacant spot this late (not your fault in the slightest though!). Enjoy your last year as a GD! 🙂

Congratulations! May I ask which school did you accept and which ones did you cancel?

for those who interviewed already, what were some questions you asked the program directors about their specific program or endo in general?

Did you take the ADAT?

I would recommend any applicants who don't have any numbers or rankings attached to them take the ADAT and do well or at least decent on it. I don't think it's a good test, but not having any numbers attached to your app will give programs a reason to set your application into the discard pile.

for those who interviewed already, what were some questions you asked the program directors about their specific program or endo in general?

What qualities have you seen in your current and past residents that have made them successful in your program?

How are residents transitioned into patient care? (e.g Extracted teeth, hand filing first handful cases, etc)

How many NS treatments and surgeries does a resident typically complete?

This is what I recall asking last year

Has anyone received the ucla interview link yet or have any idea what time it starts tomorrow?

Congrats on the acceptance, but this is a bit cringy. They definitely need to like you to accept you. But that’s based on your personality, work ethic, philosophy, and maturity. And that’s AFTER you check all the other boxes. Your sentiment is appreciated, but it’s not as simple as being fun to be around. Although a fun to be around vibe is surely noted.
