I'm a new user to these forums...There's a lot of good posts and replies: I'm very impressed.

Anyways, I'm a 3rd yr Med Student at Carib School, I was wondering where I could find a ranking list that ranks IM programs based on a variety of factors.

Also, is there a site out there that matches up a range of Step 1 scores that are reccomended in order to be competitive to that program for IM?

My classmates going into IMED and I searched for this information and could not find a database that maintains it. Most of the programs with websites do not state it, perhaps not wanting to appear like they go strictly by the numbers since there are always exceptions. I think Mayo posted it's numbers until recently, but now the website had changed and deleted this information too.

The rankings I've seen are only for the top 10 or 20 programs. There are some 400 IM programs! This site has the rankings by research grants: www.residentphysician.com. Generally people not going for the top 20 programs, narrow their choices to a specific geographic location and research the programs in that location.
