  1. Medical Student
I am starting med school this fall. The hospital that has offered to pay for part of my tuition is also employing me this summer (taking H &Ps in a family doc's office).

Before I knew about this, I asked another hospital if I could participate in an internship that is only for 2nd year medical students. They had to ask their Board of Directors, and I wasn't real hopeful since I haven't started medical school. They just sent me a big Congratulations! paper today telling me I'm in.

Both pay the same amount. Also, these hospitals are in competition with each other. I don't what to do. help please.

I didn't sign on the dotted line yet, but I think I'm going to go for it because I negotiated the terms that I want. I can do any specialty. I just have to work for that hospital which covers 4 counties. I KNOW I want to go home to work, so it's not a big deal.

Bacchus, how do you remember all of this stuff? A man that actually listens, can I marry you? J/K. Apparently, you want Kate Walsh. She's a lucky woman.

Seems like you know people at this hospital that is offering to pay for your education pretty well. Speak to someone important there to see if it would be OK if you went ahead and did this internship.

You seem to have signed a commitment letter already to work for them after med school, so I wouldn't think they would have any problem with you doing something at another hospital.

Ok, I'll do that. My fear was that it would seem like I was selling out if I worked for a summer at a different hospital. I don't want to make myself look bad.

You dont want to marry him, he doesnt put out.

Trust me. I know.

I would stick with the hospital who is paying for your education. They are who you entered an agreement with first and a place where you will have a long-term relationship. I just see this as the professional and mature decision.

Secondly, congrats on Jefferson! I interviewed there last week and was BLOWN away. Though I could not read my faculty interviewer (Dr. M), I hope I get in there.
