I hate to dwell on the topic of "hold status/second review" for ICO but after talking to admission counselors I still can't tell where I really stand as far chances for the next cycle, so I'd like to know if ICO actually rejects anyone? or rather everyone who doesn't get an interview remains on hold until the end of the cycle. Also is this hold business a new thing they're doing this time around, because I've been browsing this forum for a couple years now and never came across hold status posts for the previous years.

Hey, I did find previous posts about people who were put on hold at ICO last year. Some of them were interviewed in Feb/March after submitting their fall grades. I am pretty sure they put a whole bunch of people on hold as backups for when ppl give up their seats or whatever..i really wouldnt dwell on this and try to focus on another school that hasnt put u on hold and maybe have a higher chance at.
 
Thanks for your reply, I know it's game over this cycle and I'm just trying to come up witht a realistic plan/expectations for next year.
 
What? But you havent been rejected from ICO...so although the chances are slim there still might be a chance. I have read posts of other people that have been rejected from ICO this cycle. Also, didnt you say you were still waiting to hear from PCO and NOVA? you never kno, its not over yet! It's still only February, I think people still get invites all the way up until may/june!
 
What do you mean by the 'cycles?'
Do you mean the entire class of 2013? Because the last time I checked (couple weeks ago already, sadly), half the seats to the entering class were still open.
(I do have an interview, but it is not until March...)
 
Yes by cycle I mean admission cycle/ 2013 class. I guess my posts don't really convey what I mean; getting rejected by WesternU has really confused me and I just want to know where I stand. Also when your file is placed on hold at ICO they will need to see an improvement or something extra to extend an interview, and at this point I have nothing else to show them and that is why I've given up.
 
During my entering class of '07 there were a good number of students who got in on hold. Remember, not everyone who gets accepted to a school takes the seat...
 
At last I got an interview...NOVA 😍, do you guys think interviewing in march is late, because I have the option of picking an earlier date, like end of this month...thanks
 
The earlier the better definately! I think march is starting to get late..congrats on the interview 🙂

congrats for the interview. you guys have the option for applying to stay at the RC. I think there is a link for instructions on how to in the e-mail they sent you regarding your invitation.
 
They mean interviews at NOVA not ICO, I think

I was just offered an interview to ICO. I know it is a bit late, but wondering if anyone knows the stats on how many students are accepted after having an interview? I have to spend $800 to fly there for the interview and do not have great marks (3.2 cgpa and 320 OAT). It's very expensive, so just was wondering on what my chances are. Also, anyone know how much of the class has already been filled? I am hoping that they see I have to travel a very long way for this interview and are not completely wasting my time.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

hey i was accepted to ICO with a 3.04 and 340, so you are slightly better than me in that aspect. but a lot of the interview wasnt talking about my grades or OAT score. most of it was about extra-curriculars and shadowing experiences. ask a lot of questions in your interview to show that you have an interest in the school too, it looks really good. good luck. and where are you flying from that is costs 800? thats pretty pricey

Hey I have the same stats as you and I've been on hold with ICO since Oct. How were you contacted for your interview invite? Also, when was your interview? Thanks!
 
hey i was just emailed about my interview...it's not until late march because that was the earliest i could get.

email from ICO for the interview invitation, which probably came in late september because the interview was october 3rd.
