Do some research before you post your question.
Your scores are fine!!!

It all depends on when you applied, which schools you chose. From what I've seen here, you could be in a good shape at some schools, but you could also be right at the bottom at some others.

For real, why do people doubt themselves?

Well, if you asked me this 3 months ago, I would have said you would have no problems.

However, I basically have the same gpa's except my Sci. is 2.9.

My DAT scores are 21 AA, 20 TS, 19 Bio, 20 G Chem, 21 Orgo, 20 QR, 24 RC, 18 PAT.

I applied in July.

I have one interview from BU.

My chances dont look too hot right now, even though a couple months ago, people were saying that I would definitely get in somewhere.

Now, Im not saying this to discourage you. I just want to let you know that it isnt a lock like it may seem. You could easily get multiple acceptances with those numbers or you could easily get rejections with those numbers. Good luck.

Hey Reza...no luck from NYU or the Texas schools this cycle?

I'd say that if you apply to all 55 dental schools you have about a 40% chance of getting accepted.

don't be discouraged, I didn't get alot of my interview invites last year until December......then I got 5 of them

If you are really passionate about Dentistry and know that is what you want to do for the rest of your life, and you have been working hard to achieve you goal there will always be some doubt about acceptances, because there are no 100% guarantees of acceptance.

well i did get one interview invitation...from UNLV...thats going to be on the 16th....ive also applied to USC, UOP, and UCSF but i havent heard from them yet

USC somehow didnt get my score (this is the 3rd time that ADEA screwed up my DAT scores being sent), and UOP pushed back my application to december for further review (whatever that means  ).

i'm just so stressed out because im dealing with all this while juggling my upper division classes and midterms

Your experience is phenomenal. It's obvious you take your work seriously and have a true interest in dentistry.

I've said this before and I'll say it again...
Grades/DAT scores don't necessarily correlate with "quality of dentist." If I was part of admissions, I would at least grant you an interview. But if you are applying to competitive schools (notably UCLA, UCSF, Harvard), you may want to keep your options open (think BU, NYU, USC, etc.).

Good luck!

thanks :)

i've only applied to 5 schools....all the schools in california and UNLV
i got rejected from Loma Linda for not being spiritual enough, i got interview coming up for UNLV, and dunno about the rest.

If I dont get in this year and reapply next year to schools I didnt apply at all this year, you think I'd have to go through the whole "prove how you improved yourself from the last time you applied" issue?

I interviewed with NYU last year, so they wont require me to interview again. With them, I just need to wait it out and see if my numbers are good enough to get in.

Havent heard anything from the Texas schools yet. I guess I just need to be patient and hope something comes up.
