The 2 essays suck, lots of time, not to mention money, for a huge longshot...I am really debating about whether or not I'm going to bother with this since I am very borderline (28, 3.7) as an out of state applicant anyway. The positives are it is a very good school and I think you get in-state tuition as an out-of-state student in Ohio after yr. 1? Not sure on that.

Anyone in the same position?

Yes you get in-state tuition after the first year.

I got in with a similar GPA and a 30 from California. It's worth a shot man, it's really a great school. But if money is truly an issue...

Go ahead and apply. I wouldn't say that it's a huge longshot. Good luck! OSU was one of my top choices.
