Hey everybody,

I had an interview at OSUCOM two weeks ago, and today I checked my status, but it indicated that a decision was still pending. I remember they said this might happen and not to get too discouraged about it, but it's hard not to. Just wondering if anyone knows how long they take after this to make a final decision, and how good my chances still are because I really loved OSU. Thanks!

I interviewed on a Wednesday and heard back two weeks later on Friday, so it was a 16 day wait. Remember, they'll send you an e-mail notice 24 hours before your status will change on your page. Good luck! If you get in and go there, we'll be classmates!

Oh, sorry, I actually meant that I did get the email about my status change. But when I checked this morning it said that a decision is still pending. They said this might happen and I was just wondering if anyone else went through this and knows how long after this they take to make a decision.

Check the class thread. Apparently many get off the deferred list.

Hmm...wasn't sure whether I was on the deferred list yet, because it doesn't actually say deferred, just "decision pending". In fact, the letter they post online says they are yet to make a final decision, so I think I am not yet deferred. But either way, it seems a lot of people do get off of it, which is nice.

If you got the status change email today, the website does not update until overnight, so it will not change until the following day.

I believe the decision pending status is following the interview prior to the update (be it accetance, deffered or rejected).

It will still say decision pending if you are deferred.

In my letter:

Because of the number of highly qualified candidates, we have decided to delay our final decision on your application until other candidates have been considered. We will notify you once a final decision is made on your application. Please be aware that it is possible for your status to change, and we ask for your patience as we work through our process.

i dont mean to hijack this thread (sorry!) 😳 but i've been complete since july/aug. and i haven't heard post-secondary until right now. i just got the whole, your status has been updated, check tmrw. I'm wondering if they're still interviewing or if they've been rejecting people thru the status page. does anyone know? and when they say, overnight, does that mean you won't hear until the next morning? what time usually? when have you guys been able to check the updated status?

I interviewed at OSU in the first round, and I got an email fairly shortly afterwards (I think about 4-5 days after the interview) that said "decision pending". It was like that for about 2 wks, and then it went to accepted. So, I don't think it means ANYTHING yet, just that they haven't updated your status in the computer system... so you could be accepted, or deferred, or something else. Just keep checking it regularly, and it will change. Good luck! 🙂

Or call 'em if you're really curious 😉 If it's been two weeks, you're supposed to be informed anyway!

it updates between 1:30-2am, if you are really anxious (i know i was, i got my status change tomorrow email on a friday night, i checked the status as soon as i got back from the bar that night and had my interview invite waiting for me).

Oh thanks gbbdoc, i went to bed early last night so i checked it when i got up this morning. it was a rejection hehe. it wasn't a very nice once either. but it's ok. i expected it this far in the process. Good luck to the rest of you! and thanks for ur help! 🙂
