WELL,MAYBE MY TOPIC WAS TOO GENERAL.PLEASE,FORGIVE ME (FIRST OF ALL)FOR MY NOT-PERFECT-ENGLISH(WHO HAS A PERFECT ANYWAY?)FOR I AM A FOREIGN PERSON.
I AM NOT LOOKING FOR CRITICISM HERE,BUT FOR HELP IN A FORM OF ADVICE(HA-HA...WHAT DID YOU THINK?)FROM ALL OF YOU-INTELLIGENT PEOPLE.
I AM A REGULAR FOLK WHO IS INTERESTED IN GETTING INTO MEDICAL SCHOOL IN NEAREST FUTURE.HOWEVER,I AM CONFUSED ABOUT ALL THESE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF ADMISSION INTO ONE. SINCE MY GRADES WEREN'T SO PERFECT IN THE PAST(PRE-MED COURSES)-I HAD COUPLE "C"'S...I WONDER,HAS THE MCAT SCORE MORE WEIGHT IN GETTING IN? HOW IMPORTANT ARE THE GRADES? SEE,I HAVEN'T TAKEN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY,PHYSICS AND BIOCHEMISTRY YET. I HAD "B"'S MOSTLY...WOULD "A"'S IN THE ONES THAT LEFT MAKE A DIFFERENCE?I CAN'T THINK OF GIVING UP... (
WHAT SCORE ON MCAT GIVES A REAL CHANCE TO GET IN WITH NOT-SO-SATISFACTORY GRADES IN PRE-MED COURSES?
MY LAST QUESTION:SOME COURSES I'VE BEEN TAKEN 5 YEARS AGO.WOULD THEY STILL COUNT OR I HAVE TO RE-TAKE COURSES? PLEASE,RESPOND TO ME!

Any good grades will help you. A good MCAT score will help you. For lots of information about applying to medical school start with the <a href="http://www.aamc.org/students/start.htm" target="_blank">American Association of Medical Colleges</a> or the <a href="http://www.aacom.org" target="_blank">American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine</a>. Five-year old grades should not be a problem. The average GPA and MCAT scores of accepted applicants vary from school to school. Overall the average GPA and MCAT scores for applicants and matriculants (accepted applicants) to allopathic medical schools are posted <a href="http://www.aamc.org/data/facts/start.htm" target="_blank">here</a>. A lot of the info you requested is in the SDN Big Guide to Medical School, on SDN's main page (<a href="http://www.studentdoctor.net" target="_blank">SDN Main Page</a>). Also, you mention that you still have to take some of the required courses (organic chem, etc.) so you need to speak with a premed advisor at the institution where you take your remaining premed courses.

hello from your name, i can guess that you're a filipina? (50/50) bet well, if really have strong desires for med school then go for it. some of the med schools don't look for pre-med grades. sometimes, they lookd at the MCAT score, but if you're so determined, there's nothing to worry about... just show your determinations

A good idea is to spend some time reading all the other threads- many others have asked very similar questions. Basically speaking the worse your GPA is the better your MCAT needs to be. Many people get into med school with a few C?s, so that is not a big deal. If you can get A?s now it would help you a lot- an improving trend is also a good sign.

I am going to be honest here. Something you are going to have to work on a lot is your English. Usually people read and comprehend better then they write, but your lack of skill in English will be a detriment to the MCAT (and possible other classes as well). The MCAT contains a verbal section where you read several passages and attempt to answer difficult questions on each one? these questions use difficult language and are very tricky with their usage and meanings- it is very hard for native English speakers! Also, the writing section (although less important) consists of 2 essays you must write.

This was not meant to be mean- I just want to be honest and give you some good advice. Work hard on your English, and you will have a shot at getting into medical school!
