Do well in your premed courses: bio, math, physics, chem.
Do well in your other courses.
At some point, do some research
At some point, do some volunteering
At some point, get clinical experience
Rock the MCAT
Apply early, with good LORs and a kickass PS.
Interview well.

Also, professors don't like bad grammar and spelling. Run a spellcheck on your work and have someone proofread your work before you submit it.
