Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Ft. Gordon, GA. I ranked it #3.

First time poster, been lurking for a while.

Jesse Brown VA Medical Center (Chicago), Health Psych track. Was my #1 choice. Yay.

Congrats to everyone who matched. Best wishes to those in clearinghouse. Stay sane :D

I think it is very interesting that you ended up at Wayne State (as your #2 choice), particularly after you made this comment in the "Internship Interviews" section (page 2)........Perhaps this will help caution others who are seeking HONEST opinions from certain individuals on this site.

"A friend went there and did not like it -- she said that there was NO help finding a job or post-doc, no supervision, and that she was just doing social-work case management for persons with early psychosis. She also said that Detroit was very expensive and very unpleasant...
Did you interview at Wayne -- what did you think?"

I'm a bit confused......

I didn't interview there, so I don't know. However, a lot of internships use their interns as workhorses, so the quantity, and, more importantly, the quantity, of supervision you get varies greatly from site-to-site.

Well.......what happened was that I had just interviewed at Wayne and was curious as to whether anyone knew/heard anything (good or bad) about their site. The poster had mentioned that although she had not interviewed there, she heard negative feedback about the site from a former intern. I just thought it was interesting that she "ended up" at Wayne and ranked it #2.

And this is why you take everything that anyone says around here with a grain of salt!

In other news, for all the people who have dissed Fielding in the past for various reasons, it is apparently quite possible to obtain decent internships. A guy I know there matched with Duke, working under a sleep specialist. I wouldn't consider that too shabby.

Congrats to everyone who matched! And g'luck to those of you who received the privilege of participating in the clearinghouse. :luck:

You can view the conversation in the Internship Interviews thread on page 2 starting with post #78. I do not know how to bring the postings over to this area.

I always do take everything with a grain of salt; however, I think that it is shady behavior and should be put out there for others to see.

Ah, but see, you are one of the greatly advanced, wise ones around. :D Not everyone does as you do, so I thought it needed to be said. I'm tired of hearing people think that whatever they read online is fact and in the meantime pass along all sorts of information, accurate or not.

I do agree that if 'caught', such posts should be brought up (as you & T$C have done) in order to clarify any confusion. Knowing absolutely nothing about the program's interview process, is it possible that the poster interviewed at the site later than her posts?

Duke medical center or duke counseling center?

If its a sleep specialist, I assume the former, but you never know, and its a WORLD of difference so thought I'd ask:)

You assume correctly. I conveniently forget that sites have multiple programs at times. Everyone's supposed to be able to read my mind. After all, isn't that what we're studying to do?

Paramour,
Clearly, a year in graduate school has not only made you clairvoyant but also more sassy! It is a good thing that you and RayneeDeigh did not have to go with your back-up plan of opening up a brothel. Although, financially you both may have been better off with the back-up plan! I wonder if prostitutes pick up ESP skills?
