I start my first rotation, inpatient internal medicine, in about a week. It was recommended that i get this book. Up to this point im my medical career i have done just fine with old editions of books. So my question is will the 2004 edition be sufficient or do i need to pay $30 more for the 2007?

You will be fine with the 2004 edition. It has everything you need as a medical student. For the most current information -- and for presentations -- you can always use uptodate and pubmed.

Good luck!

In this case it might be better to go with the new edition, especially if you are considering internal medicine as a career. While for the basic sciences not much changes in the course of a few years, clinical guidelines can change a lot. Ask around to your classmates who have already finished medicine and see if any of them will let it go cheap.
