Olympic Medal Winning Canadian Med Student speaks about Covid19

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Nice read. I've enjoyed hearing about all the unique ways people from all walks of life (and within the medical community) have found to help during this global crisis. Her using her platform to influence her countries olympic committee and using her leadership skills to organize PPE is inspiring. A group of my ski friends are gathering their contact's old goggles to send to hospitals that are in need of PPE. There are endless possibilities to help those in need right now - everyone is being effected by COVID-19. I'd encourage anyone interested in medicine to observe these examples and find your own way to help your community!

Thank you for sharing this. I hope to see Hayley Wickenheiser in more leadership positions as she transfers her skills into a career in medicine.

Medical Student-Athlete? That's Hayley Wickenheiser. I had no idea she was in medical school too. One of the best female hockey players of all time who is also currently attending Calgary MD school and acting as the assistant director of player development at my favorite hockey club (Go Leafs!). What a career so far.
