Just wondering if anyone on this site has been to EMORY for an externship... What to expect (other than the 100+ temperature :eek:) etc etc etc..

cases in the clinics

455 Admissions and 338-23 hour or less
164 osteotomies
32 cosmetic procedures
47 tracheostomies
288 implants
78 TMJ procedures
242 Mandible Fractures
72 Mid-face fractures
72 Bone grafts from ileum, cranium, tibia, rib or
intraoral sites.
14 Salivary gland excisions
136 cysts & benign neoplasmsof soft tissue or bone
(Dent. cysts, OKC, Ameloblastoma, Myxomaetc)
8 Malignant tumors

Facial Trauma Agreement

Based on date and time with no anatomical
limitations
OMFS is on "Face-Call"from 7 AM to 7AM every
third day.
Share call with ENT & Plastics
In actuality we treat more than 1/3 of the patients"

This was given to us when I interviewed. Figure your externship will be busy too.
 
Out of the 5 externships I went on Emory was by far the best. Tons of experience. Varied experiences. Cool people.
