Ok, these were cool videos, but they totally freaked me out. Gosh,I feel like I am going to break someone's neck or someone is going to break my clavical with the high velocity stuff in OMT class. How can you do high velocity stuff on some that doesn't have any reasons for it being done to them?

Am I alone in my scared feelings about this whole thing? Some assurances, please.
 
Don't worry :) . You don't learn the high velocity until you've gotten a decent understanding of the mechanics and a feeling for the resistance. At least at my school we don't complete the "snap" unless we diagnose the actual dysfunction. We spend more time on setting up the patient... which is VERY important. You usually learn the soft-tissue stuff first... also, the amount of movement in HVLA is small. So don't be afraid... we've all been through it :D ... and we're all still alive to tell the story!
