On hold at Rush pre-interview, is that a good thing?

hey guys, I just found out that I was put on hold at Rush PRE-INTERVIEW, and I was wondering if anyone out there knows what that is all about. Is this hold like the UC hold, which in other words is just a polite way of rejecting me or has anyone actually been rejected pre-interview/post-secondary? thanks for the info guys!

Dr. Donk,

My thinking is that it is a rejection if pre-interview. I'm in the same boat. I really don't think Rush is the right place for me (just a good guess) so I'm not really worried. A girl that I know chose it over another chicago school and although she doesn't hate it, the people aren't as good ...

She says (this has nothing to do with the previous paragraph) that there are TONS of Indians there, disproportionate amount. Just relaying a story. Good luck. Where else did you apply?

Hey Gumshoe, thanks for the info, I also think it's a rejection, but we'll see, I have to send them updated records of my post-bac grades, so who knows....things might change after that. But, I'm from California and a spot in a california school is definitely my top choice right now. Fortunately I have interviews at UCLA and UC Davis coming up so things are going well locally, but I'm just not getting any love from out of state schools! Has anyone felt that way too?
As far as your comment about indians, well, seeing that I have some Inca blood in me, I guess it's all good and I wouldn't mind being there. I especially like the fact that they train excellent primary care physicians, which is what I want to do with my medical career. Does anybody else have some info about that hold? thanks

Dr. Don, I found out today that I was also "on hold." Here's some info:

Me: Could I have been rejected at this point?
Rush: Yes, we do have a rejection status, but you didn't get rejected.
Me: So it's considered above a rejection?
Rush: Yes. The Committee will review your file again in January.

thanks Lisalisa, I guess we'll have to wait until january...and if everything goes well, we'll be getting interview february to find out if we got in by april/may...mmmmmmmmmm which ultimately means MORE WAITING and MORE PATIENCE!

Do you know of anyone who was rejected from Rush already, pre-interview?

No I don't does anybody know if anyone has gotten rejected from Rush pre-interview?

PM'ed me and tried to give me some hate mail. Did you think as well that I was being cruel and bashing Indians by relaying that information (i meant people from India, not native americans)? I thought it was clear by the statement "this has nothing to do with the previous paragraph" that what I was about to say meant nothing in terms of a value judgment.

Man, I think people just wait on others so they can shout "liar, thief, killer, prejudice!" at them, thereby perpetrating some bullsh*t propaganda ... it's really shameful.

Know yourself.

Later (I like "Donk" sorta Dr. Donk sounds cool.... hehee, that was an accident)
