Do schools that place some students "on-hold" also reject other applicants pre-interview, or is everyone placed on pre-interview hold? This may vary from school to school, of course, but I was wondering if there is a general trend to be identified.

It varies by the school. For example, Albany puts some on hold and rejects others, while George Washington puts all (or at least most) people on hold.

Has anyone been formally rejected from GW pre-interview yet? does anyone know the chances of being given an interview after being placed on hold (which happened to me today, 12/2)?

me 3....f u GWU

What about U Penn or U of Chicago? I'm on the "on hold" list over there too...

Some one posted in another thread that UPenn interview deferrment probably means rejection (which sucks) but U Chicago has been rejecting so I'm guessing they do go back through the "on hold" people at some point.
