Hey guys this is my first time posting here. I've spent many hours reading all of your posts and they have been so helpful. Thank you so much.

I have been studying for the past 1 1/2 months and just took the top score tests. I scored 19's and 20+. I'm feeling pretty confident after what I've read about their comparison to the actual test. I wanted to know if anyone had any advise for this last week and especially for the night before. Should I study a lot the night before, a little or none? Thanks

Great job on your Top Score tests! As you know, Top Score has been judged by most as a little more difficult in the Natural Science section and math, and easier in PAT and reading. Your scores indicate that you are very well prepared for the DAT. Whatever strategies you are using---KEEP USING THEM.

For the last week, do minimal studying. With 7 days to go, touch up on all material you are sure you have the most trouble with. How much can you learn in a week anyway that you don't already know after1 1/2 months of studying? The day before the test, do absolutely nothing. Try to relax, clear your brain (but do not empty it 😀 ), and if you may be so impulsive, look at one or two things you absolutely don't know. Your ultimate goal as you get closer to the exam is to relax, and mentally prepare yourself for test day. I am wiling to bet that you will score 20+ on the real DAT. Go see a movie, stare at a pigeon, eat a banana, take a cross country trip.😛

Good luck to you!

iudentists,

i just took my DAT on 8/1/2003. i agree that you should relax, but do not empty your brain. i suggest you do nothing but practice your topscore test. you are done with studying!

as far as your topscore goes, i think that the real DAT was hard but pretty close to the topscore. if you are doing well on topscore believe me you will get 20's on the real one. just don't lose your composure and focus!

another good tip is, to go to bed late 2 days before the test and wake up very early the day before the test that way when 8 pm comes around the day before, you will be tired and be able to sleep. this is very important. you have to get a good night sleep and no matter what it takes.

good luck to you!!
