An excerpt:
"I truly believe that the USDA inspector is the only advocate animals have in slaughter plants. When we turn our backs on the helpless, when we fail to speak on behalf of the voiceless, when we tolerate animal abuse and suffering, then the moral compass of a just and compassionate society is gone."

im eating lunch right now and i gagged when i read that "skinned alive" ughhh god i cant believe it. i mean, i kind of can believe it cuz ive seen abuse like this before but i just cant believe people can do this!!
:boom:
This is one of the reasons i want to go into lab animal med. My coworker just told me about a research facility with primates that was fixing their a/c and i guess their heat went off unexpectedly all night, all 30 died. The same place had another problem last yr, washing the cage of a primate with the primate still in it. May sound not so bad...but if anyone has ever used those high power water guns...man those hurt

Just makes me want to do better in vet school to get a good job that so i can help protect these animals and keep the standards of welfare to what they should be.
