how was your first few months out working independently? are you in group or private practice?

side question, any recommendations on how I should find a moonlighting job in my perio residency?

How much in loans did you finish with and how is repayment looking?
Also, how did it feel to treat patients without anyone looking after you ?

How has private practice differed from your residency? Can you describe the practice you work in, the demographics, etc

If working as an associate currently, do you plan to eventually own a practice?

If looking to own a practice, what's your approach to paying off loans vs saving up capital to get a loan?

What is the pay structure for your private practice job? Do you have a daily guarantee and if so, how much? Any % on top of that daily minimum?

First month was a bit bumpy but fun. Working out of two chairs, knowing I had people waiting. The office was able to work with me tho, as well as my boss. Residency definitely helped.

180k~, I had a scholarship but had some personal family troubles and living expenses. Haven’t started repayment yet. Soon though. Wanted to at least live again during my first year.

I produced the most in my program, even did the most Implants by far, despite the red tape. So residency allowed me to honed in on hand skills, as well as multitasking and patient tx planning.

My office seems to be insurance heavy, but I don’t mind because at the end of the day, I’m fresh and I need to keep my hands busy. Some insurances are legalized robbery though.

Maybe one day, I’m still considering perio. Family troubles made me focus more on that for the time being.

35% collections, 10k sign up bonus. I’m paid on a draw, meaning I need to make a minimal amount per month or else I owe my boss money. That’s usually a bad thing but its never been an issue and I’m always well over my minimal amount. I never felt the need to push treatment and my boss is always pushing me to see hygiene patients and getting my face out there in the practice. He truly is a gem

Sorry for the late post everyone! Laptop died.

Sorry kind of new to the process but does that mean you made half a million last year?

I wanted to ask in your other thread, but why are the writeoffs and adjustments so high?
