Hello!
I previously took organic chemistry at my alma mater and ended up with a C-. I was going to retake it at my university, but it will cost me $2000, which is too much alongside other courses I plan to take. I was planning to take it with UNE Online, as that offers the most flexibility, but I am unsure how it will be perceived since it is online. I have not taken online labs before, so while it is the preferred choice, I do not know if it is the best one. The other option would be taking it at my local community college, which also poses the question of "taking the easy way out."

Should I just take it at my alma mater, or what would you guys suggest?

Thank you!

Why would it cost 2 grand to retake a class that you’re already paying tuition to take other classes for?

I applied to retake it at my alma mater last semester. I think 10 credits cost me 5k, so I tried playing around and crunching numbers. Just the lab alone, with all the lab fees, mandatory fees, and I believe it's ~$800 per credit, caused the tuition to be around $2,500 🙁

Is your alma mater your local state school? If not, try there first.
Yes, it is! They're just very pricey, and it will cost me $2,500 for a 2-credit class (other courses I will be taking). I've been funding my postbacc from savings, so I can keep the loan minimal for when I join an SMP. Thus, I've just been avoiding taking out a loan. However, if it is the best course of action, I can ask for possible options.
