Alright kids...

It's only a couple weeks til we hear something from Pitt. I am wondering...for those who have previously been accepted or know someome who has...how do they notify accepted applicants? I am really excited to hear from them...anyone else out there have Pitt for one of their first choices?

Sorry, but it will be more like 3 or 4 weeks till Pitt mails decisions. I interviewed a week ago and Dean so-and-so said they were trying to get letters out on the 28th, but they would need a week or two worth of leeway past that date because of AMCAS.

I also loved Pitt when I interviewed and an praying for some good news in March. Their curriculum was so impressive. It seemed like the ideal way to teach medicine, and the students there were really happy.

i spoke with dean curtiss on the phone yesterday...he told me to give him a call if i had not heard anything by the end of the first week in march. so that's when i'll be expecting something.

    Hey,

what did you guys think of the city of Pittsburgh? Someone told me it was a "liveable city" whatever that means.

    Thanks :)

Why does everyone on SDN always talk aout Pitt? Is a competitive school to get in to, or have high rankings? I applied to 4 schools in penn, but for some reason that I can't remember, I left Pitt out. Why did you guys apply there? i ask b/c I may have to reapply next year

Well, let's see, Pitt is ranked 19th overall in the country according to USNews...very well respected school...they get TONS of NIH funding for all sorts of research...curriculum is flexible/cool/effective(peeps do well on boards)...access to patients bc its the only school in the city...people there are very nice...I could go on...all this said, I won't be going even if accepted...irony I guess.

Speaking of Pitt, do you guys know if those of us who will interview in mid-February will be included in the late February/early March decision, or do people interviewing this late get placed in the rolling admissions category?

Also, for those who have been to Pitt already, did they say anything regarding how many people they plan on interviewing/accepting?

I think Pitt will be the last interview I accept and I would really love to attend.

    Thanks.

I'll be expecting my rejection letter from PITT early in march then....I liked the school...but let's just say the interview and other things might end poorly for scooby

    Wes,

I interviewed the first or second week of Feb. three years ago and just made the deadline before the big admission day. There are about 150 people per class. I'm guessing that they probably accept around 300 to fill those spots.

I know the Pitt MSTP (MD/PhD) program has sent out acceptances, so perhaps that indicates the regular MD acceptance letters are soon to follow.

    Or maybe not...

    good luck regardless.
