The Department of Pathology of Baystate Health (BH) is seeking a full-time AP/CP or CP pathologist to join a faculty of 20 pathologists working in a hybrid academic/private practice model. CP subspecialty expertise is strongly desired primarily in microbiology, informatics, transfusion medicine, or molecular pathology. Additional interests in other areas of clinical or anatomic pathology are also favored. Our faculty takes pride in its entrepreneurial and energetic spirit while delivering a full spectrum of anatomic and clinical pathology services under single leadership. In addition, we teach in our own freestanding resident and fellow training program and opportunities for research are available and encouraged.

The Department also provides medical leadership to Baystate Reference Laboratories (BRL), one of the largest hospital-based reference labs in the country. Annual system-wide volumes approach six million lab tests, 50,000 surgical specimens, and 65,000 cytopathology specimens. Molecular genetics, cytogenetics, and reference laboratory services are included with new molecular, histology, cytogenetics, and cytology laboratory facilities. Salary and academic rank will be determined by experience and accomplishments.

Springfield and the adjacent “Pioneer Valley” are located in beautiful Western Massachusetts with convenient access to coastal New England, the Berkshires, Vermont, and the metropolitan areas of Boston (90 minutes), Hartford (30 minutes), and New York City (2 hours). The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is
inviting applications for a Director of Gastrointestinal Pathology. The successful candidate will
direct a busy subspecialized gastrointestinal pathology service which supports the clinical and
academic mission of internationally recognized programs in Inflammatory Bowel Disease,
Carcinoid and Neuroendocrine Tumors, Colorectal Cancer, Pancreatic and Biliary Disease and
Liver Transplantation. There is a very active Outreach program.

Cedars-Sinai is a 952 bed quaternary medical care facility and is the largest not-for-profit
provider of health care on the west coast serving more than 9 million people in Los Angeles
County. The Medical Center complex is located at the junction of Los Angeles and Beverly
Hills. CPLM is an independently contracted pathology group providing exclusive Pathology
services to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The Department, with its 47 faculty, oversees a
clinical operation of over 56,000 surgical cases, approximately 3 million laboratory tests, robust
outreach and consultative referral practices and Experimental and Translational pathology
facilities. There are 28 residents and fellows including a GI/Liver Pathology Fellowship.

We are seeking a board certified Anatomic Pathologist with a track record in diagnostic
excellence, research and leadership in GI pathology. The division has 5 pathologists primarily
focused on GI pathology and 4 additional pathologists who have secondary subspecialty interest
in GI pathology. A minimum of 7 years experience and eligibility for appointment at the
Associate or full Professor level in the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Professorial Series is
required. For individuals with appropriate interest and experience, concurrent appointment as the
Director of Surgical Pathology will be considered.

Chief Pathologist Position

Cosmopolitan Upstate New York Community 1 Hour north of New York City

Available immediately is a full-time chief pathologist position for an experienced BC AP/CP pathologist to lead a group of 5 pathologists in the Eastern lower Hudson Valley region providing services at Vassar Brothers and Northern Dutchess Hospitals. New York State medical license required. The position is based at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY and titled Chief Pathologist and Director of Laboratories. Poughkeepsie is a community of colleges, cultural attractions and light industry on the Hudson River adjacent to the FDR Museum and Culinary Institute of America.

The position is focused on in-patient anatomic pathology with additional physician office-based specimens. Frozen section and fine needle aspiration biopsy services are performed on site. No gynecologic cytology specimens are included in the daily volume. The Chief Pathologist will also direct a re-developed on site clinical laboratory. Vassar Brothers Medical Center is a 365 bed facility that has been serving New York's Mid-Hudson Valley since 1887. Located on the banks of the Hudson River, Vassar Brothers has established centers of excellence in cardiac services, cancer care and women and children's health services.

Molecular Pathologist
The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, Alberta Health Services, in partnership with the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, in Edmonton, Alberta is seeking a world class Pathologist with credentials in Molecular Pathology to direct an expanding Molecular Pathology Section in our Department (http://lmp.med.ualberta.ca/Pages/default.aspx).
Molecular technologies in anatomic pathology, haematopathology, and genetics are becoming standard of care for diagnosis, prognosis and therapeutic management of many diseases. Pathologists, oncologists and other clinicians are all demanding such services, and it is essential to have leadership to ensure that molecular pathology service, research and method development are at the forefront of our activities. The successful candidate will be familiar with a broad spectrum of molecular techniques and sequencing methods. In addition, an academic, innovative approach towards new emerging technologies and their translation from research applications into the evolving field of diagnostic molecular pathology is expected. In this regard linkages with the WW Cross Cancer Centre, a world-class comprehensive cancer centre on the University Campus are important and essential to this position.
The successful candidate will have an appointment within the academic stream in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at a level commensurate with experience and productivity. Cross appointment in the Department of Oncology at the Cross Cancer Centre will be included with this appointment. The successful candidate with interact closely with the Department of Genetics to ensure the delivery of services for molecular pathology and molecular genetics programs. The Department of Pathology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is seeking to recruit an academic surgical pathologist with expertise in breast pathology. The candidate must hold an MD or MD/PhD degree and be board certified in Anatomic Pathology and/or in Anatomic/Clinical Pathology. An unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas is required. The successful candidate with be required to participate in the teaching duties of the department for residents and Fellows, medical students and others at the Health Science Center. An academic approach to breast pathology is expected. The Department of Pathology, Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine/VCU Health System is seeking a full-time Hematopathologist. • Provide leadership to reform overall pathology curriculum including the general pathology courses as well as pathology content in organ systems-based (GI, Cardiology, Renal, etc.) courses.

• Develop clinical correlation scenarios with other departments to foster integration of the basic and clinical sciences.

• Participate in course management/administration of one or more courses within the prescribed curriculum.

• Assist in the recruitment, development, and evaluation of adjunct faculty lecturing in general and organ system pathology

• Actively engage in the assessment of student learning.

• Serve formally and informally as an advisor to students and participate in student mentorship.

• Provide recommendations on resources required to effectively deliver a quality pathology curriculum.

• Develop a scholarly agenda by conducting independent research, submitting applications for intramural and extramural grant funding, publishing in peer reviewed journals, presenting at local and national conferences, etc.

• Provide service to the department, colleges, university, and profession by: participating in faculty and professional committees, participating in community outreach programs and functions, serving governmental agencies and community organizations, etc.

Academic Hematopathologist

University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) CLINICAL HEMATOPATHOLOGY IN MOFFITT-LONG HOSPITAL AT UCSF The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), Department of Laboratory Medicine is seeking a clinical Hematopathologist for the Moffitt-Long Clinical Bone Marrow and Hematology services. This position is at the Assistant Professor level in the Health Sciences Clinical series, which emphasizes strong commitment to clinical service and teaching. Applicants must hold either a MD or MD-PhD degree with eligibility for California medical licensure and board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. Subspecialty board certification or eligibility in Hematopathology is also required with one to two years of clinical fellowship training.

The successful candidate will be a member of a team of clinical pathologists that are responsible for the daily operations of the Moffitt-Long Hospital Bone marrow and Hematology Laboratory. The Hematopathology service performs over 2,000 bone marrow biopsy interpretations annually, primarily for diagnosis of leukemia and lymphoma. The candidate will also provide medical interpretation of blood smear diagnosis and work with the Pathology Department interpretation of lymph node biopsy specimens. Expertise in use and interpretation of flow cytometry for diagnosis of blood related disorders is also required. Demonstrated expertise teaching (at both resident and medical student levels) is preferred. Development of translational and collaborative research projects in leukemia, lymphoma or hematology is a long-term goal of this position.
