All I can say is it's about time! The two organizations have been at each other's throats for far too long, consuming resources that could have been used to further both our fields. Kudos to the current leadership for making this happen.

Agreed. Look forward to seeing how this collaboration pans out. If this is mostly educational as implied in the statement, I can see the benefit to the optmoetric community. Not sure the same could be said of ophthalmologist. Either way, ultimately collaboration as opposed to animosity is what we need. Hope both organizations work with each other for the betterment of each individual entity.
