Hello. I will be an ophtho resident at Baylor and was wondering which textbooks to buy since my internship program gives me a $200 "educational fund". Kanski's text is great I hear, but is there a new edition coming out in the next year or so. Also, I've heard Will's Eye Manual is a must for on call and in the clinic. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

kanski is a great text with really nice pictures, but i have yet to open it this year. i really only have time to read the bcsc series which most programs (and i am sure that baylor) pay for. either your program or some pharmacy rep will buy you a will's. two books that were suggested to me were chern's review manual of ophthalmology (it's kind of like FirstAid for the OKAPS):
http://www.amazon.com/Ophthalmology...=pd_bxgy_b_text_b/002-6198571-3953608?ie=UTF8

and manual of review questions by the same author:
http://www.amazon.com/Review-Questi...=pd_bxgy_b_text_b/002-6198571-3953608?ie=UTF8

i plan to use them closer to OKAPS time. buy both through SDN!

you may want to find out if baylor pays for your lenses. if they do not, consider getting at 20D or 2.2. $200 may just about cover either lens.

good luck! hey, your 1/4 way done with internship!
