Ophtho Shadowing in Europe

I have a week or two at the end of August to shadow in Europe - preferably Italy, Switzerland or Germany.

Has anyone worked with an ophtho in any of these countries? I'd love to find someone that would take an MSII on short notice for some informal shadowing.

A German ophthalmology resident told me that his training was lousy and that he did fewer than 20 cataract surgeries. He said that most German programs have very low surgical numbers, in part, because of a lack of optometrists causing ophthalmologists to do refractions and contact lenses for a living.
