hey everyone-figured you guys looked into places and know where you are applying already, i'm looking for advice. in addition to places where i'm applying to for neuro , im thinking about these places for prelim, i'd appreciate any insight/reviews if people are applying or know anything about them..much thanks!

I can't tell you anything about the programs, but I can tell you that San Diego is beautiful, but expensive (my husband was there 10yrs), Duke and UNC-CH are located in a pretty part of the country and the cost of living isn't so bad, Boston and San Fran are EXPENSIVE. And it rains a lot in Portland!
 
i heard duke makes u wear short white coats for intern year. that is wacck!

anyne know nething bout UC Irvine? I applied to all these cali schools and know nothing about them.
 
I think Vermont would be an AWESOME place to do a prelim year if you like the cold. Wish they had a better medicine program or I might have ended up there.

that's true. medicine and gen. surg. interns wear short med school white coats at duke.
 
I don't mind the short white coats. When I started my intern year, I knew so little that I feel more comfortable wearing that short white coat.
