Was just wondering about this, because secondaries have an optional essay question - would it hurt your chances to leave it blank? Should you really strive to answer it? I viewed it like a Letter of Rec; better to have no letter than a poor letter, so does the same apply, is it better to leave the optional essay blank than to have a "half assed" or "bs'ed" essay? Looking for opinions, thanks and good luck to all those applying this cycle!

i'd answer. take it as a way to strengthen or add an element that you haven't been able to showcase yet!
