Oral medicine and Orofacial Pain Residency

I am an international dental student (India), expecting to complete my dentistry by Nov'20. I am interested in doing residency in Oral medicine or orofacial pain (which just got accepted as a specialty). How should I go about it ? How to start preparing for applying to these programs ? What career options do I have after this? Do oral med/orofacial specialists get jobs in hospitals ? Can just anybody in this field guide me through everything. Thanks in advance.
