Hi I am a D4 who aspires to be an oral surgeon. I didn't apply this cycle as I am under F1 student visa and there are only handful programs that would accept internationals. I am graduating from CODA accredited dental school and I am planning onto applying to Oral surgery once I obtain green card after working for about 2-3 years. I've completed enough weeks of externships and extracurricular activities such as researches. I have CBSE score of 70+ but aiming to retake to get a higher score. My drawback however is that I have GPA that is a little less than 3.6 and top 30% of the class. My undergraduate GPA is 3.65. Will this GPA and class rank hamper me from matching into OS program? And will 2-3 years of working experience to obtain permanent residency play as another drawback? I am more concerned about my GPA.
