Hey, has anyone received a final decision yet from Oregon Health Sciences? I was put in "hold" category the beginning of March, was told I'd hear final decision by May 18th, and haven't heard anything yet. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything from them...I am sick of waiting! Thanks

As far as I know, OHSU already sent out all their letters of acceptance. Those applicants who were placed in the "hold" category, and who have not received a letter of acceptance, can expect to receive their letters of rejection the first week in May, as they will be sent out on May 1st.

Whatever...I know that the Adcom won't even finish reviewing people til the beginning of May, so there isn't any way they could have sent out all of their acceptances yet.

Besides I have read some of your posts to other people, and it is obvious that you have a pattern of screwing with people.

So anyone else heard anything from OHSU?

Dr. T,

I withdrew from OHSU, but here's what I found out earlier.

They put you on the 'hold' list, and you may or may not hear before May 18. Around May 18, they take those on the hold list and rank them, creating a waitlist--or whatever the new ranked list is called.

Then movement ensues throughout the summer months. When I interviewed I talked to a couple of women who had gotten in off the waitlist. They said they called regularly to see what number they had moved up to.

I gathered that they use a point system, and they're sending out acceptances to people above a certain number of points. As time goes by (and no, they haven't sent out all their acceptances yet), the bar drops, so you may get in before May 18 if the bar drops down to your level (if you know what I mean). If not, you'll get ranked or rejected.

I'd go ahead and call OHSU for more clarification. I did, and they were nice about it.

Good luck!

Kris

As the token OHSU student I'd like to answer. You will hear by May 18th (probably earlier as to your status). If you have not received an acceptance, the chances become smaller that you will receive an all-out acceptance. You are correct that interviews continue through the beginning of May. I will be having lunch with interviewing candidates on May 9th and think interviews continue until the end of that week.

Do not despair, I was #27 on the waiting list and I know that they went into the 30s.

i just heard from oregon wed. accepted to the md/mph program. interviewed in feb. cali resident. i'm not sure how admissions for the straight md program works but i wish you luck--i loved ohsu and i'm very excited to be going there next year

GeoLeo,
The admissions office told me they were done interviewing people the end of March. What I was talking about was that the adcom won't be done reviewing interviewed applicants' files until around May 11th. So I'm a bit confused on what you are talking about...
Thanks for the input!

To be honest, I haven't checked lately to ensure that they are still interviewing. I will call over there today to be sure.

🙁
You are correct. I spoke to the boss over there and she said that they are done with interviewing.

Sorry,

Geo
