Does anyone know if the amount of organic chemistry on the MCAT will be even less than the April MCAT?

I had heard from friends where they literally only had a passage of orgo on their April mcats...and since I have only recently begun to study, Im wondering if it is even worth it to study since it is a lot of memorization.

Any thoughts? or how are people approaching this subject for the August MCAT? Is the EK Organic Chem book helpful?

THanks

There was very little organic on the April 06 MCAT; if I recall correctly, there were three passages and a few discretes. I don't think there will be any less on the August test.
As far as studying, you really shouldn't be memorizing that much for ochem- just know SN1, SN2, E1, E2, NMR splitting patterns and approximate location, the major IR peaks (carbonyl, alcohol, etc), and stereochemistry (be very comfortable at assigning R/S config.)

don't completely blow off organic chemistry...bio may be the main focus, but if you know your ochem, that's 2-3 passages and a few discretes that you'll have. if you don't know your ochem, that's a lot of questions to get wrong.
