Organic chemistry portion of the DAT???

hey guys!
For the organic chemistry portion of the test, how are the questions about
NMR and IR asked? what do I have to study for that part?
Do they give a graph and frequency chart for u to identify the molecule?
I heard that orgo part is pretty straight forward and easy.
I would really appreciate any tips on studying orgo part as well!

no charts for me at least....just know where different functional would have peaks in a spectrum...

Know where a hydroxyl group's bond resonates and know where a carbon oxygen double bond resonates. They almost certainly won't ask you any other functional groups than those, maybe just maybe where a C=C bond is.

The questions on my test were extremely straightforward for all types of spectroscopy.

I had some wierd specs on mine, and I also had some lab techinques which i will not elaborate on further here. Be prepared for anything.

Can you please briefly explain what kind of lab techniques I would have to know? I have never studied that. thankx
