Greetings.... Last night in my DAT group all my students got this wrong ! We have students from Stoneybrook, NYU, Columbia, Villanova, and Rutgers. It was not on the DAT directly but a great problem I want to share with you guys,,,,, Cubane is a hydrocarbon that looks like a cube. Is Cubane Monocyclic, Bicyclic, Tricyclic, Tetracyclic,Pentacyclic, or Hexacyclic ? Dont laugh...... I think that the students that like PAT will do better than those of Orgo!!! This problem is dedicated to my friends ROCK STAR and GolFMont,,,,,,, Good Luck Guys,,,,,,, Dr. Romano NYU Class of of 1991

i would go with hexacyclic as well...just for the fact of six sides, but i can see how it could be tetracyclic as well

bicyclic? ..... using each carbon only once in the count
not sure though
