Hello,
How important is it to have experience treating orthodontic cases for the application process? Would being a invisalign provider be a big asset?

Can't hurt. Shows you're interested in Orthodontics even though you're a little misguided since you state to being an aligner provider . Orthodontics is so much more involved than clear retainers attempting to move teeth. Not sure I would make aligner provider as your main selling point. Spend some time researching past delivery systems such as Begg, edgewise, Tip-Edge, Pre-Adjusted, etc. Explain that you want to learn the WHY and Bio-Mechanics of how teeth move. Talk about your manual dexterity skills which will be required in wire bending. Come in with some ideas on a research thesis. The thesis is a large part of your curriculum. Think about a neat topic and discuss it.

Remember? The profession is called Orthodontics and and Dentofacial Orthopedics. It's not just moving teeth. It's identifying and modifying a growing person's dentofacial pattern.
