I have 2 questions for thoes who familiar with these, even though these might not appear too complicated for many..

Someone with significant nose bleed, stopped spontaneously in ~ 20 mins, do you order a nose X ray to rule out nasal bone fracture.

Is there any circumstances when you would not apply plaster cast on a fractured bone ( except when it is a compound fracture). I am refering to a displaced bone eg: distal humerous with some displacement.

Thanks...

If I am doing your homework for you, can I get extra credit, or maybe a cookie?

Assuming the nose is midline and not obviously deformed, I generally would not get a nasal Xray... there would be no change in management if there is a fracture or not.

And clavicle fractures are often displaced but require no plaster.

In the acute setting a splint, not a cast, may be better anyway - cast when the initial swelling subsides a bit.
