I was curious. Are there any AOA EM residencies. If there are, are you able to work in most hospital ER's without having gone through a allopathic residency once you are completed.
    thanks

thanks for the great site and info, but my real concern is whether I'll be able to practice in almost any ER throughout the country, whether it is a major trauma center or suburbian ER? Will i have to work in a D.O. oriented hospital? thanks

12R35y: as a DO you have FULL licensure to practice anywhere you want!! ofcouse being a DO you might be discrimated by "old-school" docs, but who cares right? they'll all die of old age sooner or later [IMG].

    have fun in medschool

Thanks for the responses so far. I was wondering......? I know that EM residencies are some of the most competitive around for ACGME at least, how is it in the AOA approved residency arena? Still horendously competitive? thanks
