I am a third year, and I know that I want to go into surgery. There are some great allopathic programs that I'm interested in, however, I live in PA, so I have to have an osteopathic internship to be board certified. Does anyone know how I can avoid having to do this extra internship year? Or, any allopathic programs that are linked with the year?

you need to do the rotating internship in certain states(i.e. PA) in order to get a medical license in that state, it has nothing to do with board certification. you can petition the aoa after your internship for aoa credit for your acgme(md) internship. however, this would probably be difficult for a surgical internship.
