In the November article of the JAOA there is some data that is presented that does not seem accurate/believable. For example it states that there are 29 Derm programs, 97 positions, but only 53 residents. I find it hard to believe that they can not fill all of their derm spots. Is it that there is only funding for 53 spots or that some of the spots are so undesirable that they just can't fill them. This is just one example but most desired residencies appear to have open spots and as a far as I can see none of the fields have all their spots filled.
