Hello all, I know we will prob. discuss this on 2/6, but I am too excited to stop talking about it. What is everyone interested in?

I am interested in Ortho. surgery, or ER medicine.. but still keeping my options open...

While I understand that I probably have no clue as to my true desires, right now, i'm looking at Orthopedic surg, cardiac surg, cardiology and oncology. A little part of me wants to be a family doc for a small community (not necessarily rural) as well...so it'll be fun to see how it all plays out🙂

I know what you mean, I think I am being kind of naive about the ortho thing. I say this, mainly because this is what I do now. I am always either in surgery or er. However, I am going to keep my options open and see where they take me......

I would like to practice emergency medicine in a suburban level II/III trauma center. I also plan to be an EMS medical director. (I've been a paramedic for 3 1/2 years.)

Hey all.

I started out wanting to do EM, but now really want to do rural family or general surgery. I followed a doc that does both surgery and family in a rural community. I really connected with that. I'm into filling a need or a void.

Whatever I do, I think it would be cool to take ER shifts to keep sharp.

for me, I would like to do either FM or EM, further, SM is completely out of the question for me(not enough patient involvement)

I do think a suburban trauma center near a nice urban area would be good to put roots into

I am taking Biochem and Med Micro at NSU at the moment....

I'm having a good semester. I'm in 😀 Histo and 🙁 Ochem Lab. Histo is fun so far, I spend about eight hours a week staring into a microscope. Whooda thunk that would be fun?

That's the plan: Spend time on histo now, everthing (anatomy) else later.

How was MSI biochem? My undergrad was pretty overviewish.

Our biochem is quite do-able. My undergrad class (which I believe is the same instructor that DrDad has right now) was much more difficult & comprehensive than what we have here.

and may I add that DrWoods says that it does originate near the gates of Hades so that we are prepared.... interesting huh? Hardest class I have ever had so far....

You'll be glad you took her class. OSU-COM's biochem is quite do-able without ever having biochem before, but it'll be great for you with Woods' class recently under your belt. 🙂
