hey guys

i know this is very off-topic, but do you remember any good novel you read in jr. high school?

if you do, could you share the title of the novel?

it's not for me. it's for my student. 🙂

thanks ~

definatley The outsiders, Catcher in THe rye isnt bad either

the outsiders definately... damn talk about going back...

tell your student to check out Steinbeck books... eg Of Mice and Men

Enders game

Beowulf

The Hobbit

dang...i read all these novels (the outsiders, catcher in the rye, 1984, beowulf, etc) in high school...i guess my school district was a little behind...

one book i do remember reading in jr. high was "and then there were none" by agatha christie. otherwise i only remember reading a bunch of short stories in jr. high like "flowers for algernon" (spelling?)...

"The Giver" by Lois Lowry
Not exactly a difficult read, but very moving. I still pick it up from time to time. 👍

oh yeah i just remembered..."the phanton tollbooth" and "a wrinkle in time"...

roll of thunder hear my cry, and Of mice and Men... two great books. Mark Twain's Tom Sawyer was good too, i might add.

The Phantom Tollbooth is another great choice. There's some refined taste in children's lit in this thread. 😉
