The patient complains of pain on eating cold stuff just after the root canal treatment has been completed. What are the possible reasons for the failure ?

TIA

I have a patient who just had his femur pinned together and he complains of pain when he runs - can someone explain that failure too?

It's normal that during the first couple of days following the procedure that the tooth still feels tender. Use over-the-counter analgesics that possess anti-inflammatory properties. Ibuprofen, Advil, and Motrin are some of the best choices that can minimize the pain after root canal treatment.
If the symptom does not subside in a few days then you need to go back to the dentist for a check up.

A failed root canal maybe due to several reasons: missed accessory canal, cracked tooth, re-infected....

there're many reasons but the most common is his femur might be extended too far up his @ss when he runs.

How is the tooth restored?

How much of it is left?

And have you placed a post or core build-up?

Seriously, did you test the adjacent and opposing teeth?
