Hi everybody,

I am a 3rd year IM resident currently. I am interested in Hem Onc fellowship, unfortunately I donot have any publications or research experience and am on visa. I am planning to apply this year but am not very positive given my resume.
Should I be doing a full time research or do a palliative medicine fellowship with part time research(I am not sure how much will I have) next year to boost my chances for the next application year??
Anybody who can guide me??

Depends on what programs youa re interested in..very clinical programs may favor palliative care fellwoship wheras basic science is good for big name places that train academic oncologists. How will you do full time research on a visa?

Thanks for the reply Three coins, I am planning to do volunteer research on H4(I already know some people) , so that I can also save my H1. But I am afraid I will lose clinical exposure with the break and am not sure if doing palliative medicine would really help with hem onc without research.
I have pretty good USMLE scores but no publications, anything u can guide me on??
