Truth or Myth?

Lets see if you guys can straighten out my misconceptions...

first my situation:
Accepted and deposit in at LECOM (DO school) and waitlisted/ready to jump ship for MD school.

questions:

1.) Is DO fin aid different from MD fin aid?
2.) Should I fill out fin aid forms for both?
3.) Do I do FAFSA and do I include parents income (I was told no)?
4.) Where do I go to get those $30,000 and $8,000 standford loan forms and fill that stuff out.

Is there financial aid for dummies guide around here anywhere? I'm lost and don't want to be behind the 8-ball...

thanks A LOT!

The way I understand it is there is no difference in the amount you can borrow between MD and DO. $8500 for subsidized loans and 30K for unsub loans. You don't have to fill out parent info if you aren't applying for any need based aid. All med students qualify for gov't loans. I would include parents info unless they make a ton because you never know what kind of need based aid you can get. I would fill out fin aid forms for both and if you are taken off of the MD waitlist then you're set.
