Will someone please let me know about the boarding options available while externing at Parkland for the duration of a couple of weeks.
    Thanks,

I'm sure the OMFS guys will respond to your post--they've got all of the information and usually do it in a timely manner, but you may want to contact the program directly and ask them what they have available.

I recall that past externs have stayed in the call room there, and had use of a resident meal card for meals. I think that's where Yah-E put on 45 pounds and gained his triple chin.

It depends on when you're coming. The summer is busy and there are often 2-3 externs, so there's not enough room for everyone to stay in the call room. There are a couple of nearby hotels  that have given good rates in the past, sometimes weekly rates:

Yeah, but you don't get the complimentary literature collection in the hotels...

I stayed here for $21 per night (split the cost with a fellow extern). Hospital rate, decent rooms, good service, free continental breakfast every morning, 5 minutes from the hospital...overall a pleasant stay. I think this is the cheapest place from the referral list they give you. Call the secretary and see which other extern/s are working with you and get their contact info so you can coordinate and save some $$$.

...but it doesn't include the great reach-arounds you get for free in the Parkland call room....

Free? I thought you told me that's what we had to do if we wanted breakfast tickets.

BTW, don't scare away the potential man *****...I mean extern. Wait until he gets there, then let him have it:laugh:
