Hi there,

NDBE PART 1 result is out. I got 82% overall. Can you guys please suggest me if I can get admission to any IDP programs with this score or I should take Part1 exam again? Or, Just go along with this score and take PART II.

congratulations .
u can apply but i personally feel that u should re take part 1... better the scores , better ure chances. the competition has really gone up.
but its ure decision...
anyway ure probably late applying to most colleges for 2005.. except NYU. so as u have time before the next batch of admissions start , u can retake part 1 and give part 2....

I get my result today too. I didn't do well at all. As matter of fact, I went to the test without serious preparation. Just to "test the water". I had an average of 68. I was surprised to have 70 in dental anatomy/occlusion without any preparation. I understand perfectly when you said: " its not that hard on the sametime its not that easy too." Now I know what to excpect. There is no secret, only hard work pays. I'm heading to kaplan..wish me good luck!!! To those who had 80+, congratulations! I'm sure we'll do better next time.

What material were you consulting while preparing for the exam? I consulted only ASDA past papers. I think I was lacking something. I do not think ASDA past papers are only sufficient for Part I exam. If you give more insight it would be great for new people here.

i know this quesrion is for sunita...
just my 2 cents...
the ASDA papers are definately not adequate.
decks need to be throughly read....
and u need to really know ure subject . read from text books whatever topics u arnt sure about ... in order to get a high score one really needs to know the subject .
i also got 83 the first time i gave my exam and improved after i thoughly studied .

Also the geographical location plays a big part when you are looking at a college close to where you live and where you feel more comfortable

some of them also take theory exams and others want part 1 and 2 scores
so my dear friend, don't worry about getting into a good college, just focus on getting into at least some school

personally I liked the kaplan rewiew books, I made short notes after thoroughly reading the subject
also refered to text books a lot
very important to know the subject properly and I liked the kaplan explanations to all the past papers, that helps a lot
everybody has differant ways, there is no short cut here
