Partners Healthcare Benefits

I was wondering if any of you know what health care benefits Partners (MGH, Brigham) residents get. I wanted to know how much health insurance costs per month. Also - does anyone know if Partners takes FICA (social security, medicare) out of residents paychecks - this can take a huge bite out of your paycheck.

They do take it out of your paycheck and the amount is quite significant. At the beginning they give you a couple of options, we have blue cross blue shield and it is a pretty good service (not that we have used it much). I can't remember exactly how much, and I might be wrong but I think it is like 300$ a month.

$300 a month?!?!? Is that for family coverage (I am hoping, since you used "we"...)

Most residencies deduct FICA. Now, I realize that when it meets their needs, we are "students" not employees, but the state considers us employees so I thought residencies had to deduct FICA.
