This is a third year neuroscience course on sensorimotor systems (my last neuro course, I fulfilled my other requirements). Due to the chaos I am allowed to pass/fail program requirements during this semester.
Is this a bad move? I can see myself getting an A (I’ve been getting straight A’s for the past 3 years) but I’m focused on taking care of my father (who is high-risk and my mom can’t come into contact with him because she works outside). This is creating some stress for me and I wonder if the adcoms would understand.

another question:
Would virtual volunteering count as clinical hours? I can’t continue volunteering in-person so I wondering if virtual volunteering for patients would count. I don’t have enough hours as I developed an interest in medicine a bit over a year ago (not an excuse I know).

Honestly, a single P/F won't make adcoms bat an eye. However, if you think you can get an A in the course, then an A- isn't necessarily bad. Between a P and an A-, I really don't think a P "looks" better. I'd expect adcoms to be much more understanding towards circumstances in this semester given the situation.

As for your second question, I have no idea. This is uncharted water for everybody.

OP. exactly what are you doing with "virtual volunteering"?

That’s the thing, I don’t know what opportunities they’ll offer cause I’m waiting for the email. What activities do you suggest so I don’t waste my time?
