I am contemplating Pass/Failing a class for this upcoming semester. It would just be either a language class or some type or writing class. Would this look bad to admission officers?

It looking bad or not to a committee would depend on your reasons for doing it. If you have 14 credit hours and think you'll get a C in the class, then it might look bad. If you have 18 credit hours, work, volunteer, etc., then it might not look so bad.

It really depends on your situation and your motivation for doing so. Also, do you have a previous history of P/F lots of classes? All of these things should be taken into account.
