Howdy everyone.
So, I am taking ochem this semester and I don't want to sound like someone who makes excuses because I know I am not the best student in the world, but the way my school handles this coronavirus situation is not quite well.
Not all lectures are recorded, often professor just sends powerpoint presentation that we must cover it on our own, in addition we don't have adequate tutoring sessions, and that is on top of the fact that orgo is a very hard class itself. So, I am deciding between probably C+ (for a 4 credit class) and just taking the class pass/fail.
My reasoning goes like: most schools will prefer applicant with a letter grade, however, if the GPA is damaged the school will simply not invite me for any interview at all.
Will appreciate feedback. 🙂

Most medical schools require a grade for the pre-req to be accepted. Might change due to the virus, but that’s a risk you have to take with PF. With the amount of information on YouTube nowadays, you should be able to get a good grade with enough grinding.

As the saying goes: better to be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt. Since you have the option to obtain a letter grade, some schools may require an explanation of your decision to pursue pass/fail grading instead.

Agreed. Schools that have explicitly addressed this topic appear to be allowing P/F for pre-requisites during this quarter/semester.
